Through the Franking Sense Friends Foundation, Franking Sense® was delighted to take part in an event to support the charity Fortalice.
As part of the charity’s latest fund-raising initiative, #WearItProud, Franking Sense® staff donned specially created purple & blue t-shirts at its Bolton HQ and, backed by a generous donation from the company itself, raised much-needed funds for Fortalice in the process.
Fortalice is a local Bolton based charity providing frontline services for families, children and young people (including a refuge), who are victims of domestic abuse and violence. Through the support raised through events like #WEARITPROUD, Fortalice is able to help to keep victims safe when needed most.
To put into context the work Fortalice does, for the year ending March 2019, an estimated 1.6 million women in the UK aged 16 to 74 years experienced domestic abuse (ONS, 2019). In the year of 2020, the dedicated advice team at Fortalice alone dealt with over 800 calls for support from survivors of Domestic Abuse - a 45% increase from 2019.
