Web-generated and self-printed parcel labels are affixed to parcels or a QR code used to despatch the parcel in one of four ways:
- Parcel Collect
Royal Mail will come and collect your parcel from your home or business. Collection via Parcel Collect is currently free. However, if you are a Royal Mail business customer with an Online Business Account, you do not qualify for free delivery when using Parcel Collect. - Post Box or Parcel Post Box
Parcels prepared via Click & Drop can be posted in any traditional Royal Mail Post Box or one of the new Royal Mail Parcel Post Boxes. One important thing to note, however, is that Tracked or Signed For services for your parcels cannot be sent this way. - Royal Mail Delivery Office
The pre-prepared parcel can be taken to your local Royal Mail Delivery Office to be sent. - Post Office
Alternatively, once your Click & Drop parcel is logged online and the label is printed or QR code received, the parcel can be taken to your local Post Office to be sent.
Click & Drop is undoubtedly a revolutionary step forward for Royal Mail in helping today’s consumer to send parcels in a convenient and cost-effective way. However, with charges for OBA holders for Parcel Collect and restrictions on what can be posted in a Post Box, going online to buy and print individual parcel labels and then taking parcels to the Post Office or Delivery Office may not be the most convenient, secure, and cost-effective way for you to run your business parcel despatch operations.
